My First Blog Post
This is a blog for those who dare to live, to speak, and to take their shot - the living write their own stories, while the silent fade into memory.
Sidney OkineJust Do It: The Beginning
So, you might be wondering why I wrote and published this blog. Sounds funny, right? You’re absolutely right—I’m writing a small blog on my own website; sounds fun (at least for me 😝).
I wrote this to share one simple idea: do what works best for you. As long as you’re not harming anyone, do it. If I focused on what people might say after seeing this, I probably wouldn’t have written it—let alone posted it—because it might be labeled “childish,” “funny,” or “unprofessional.” It still doesn’t matter. No one is the regulator of your life except the One you worship and the faith you believe in.
I believe this is the right time—at least for me—to do what I want to do. No shyness. No what-ifs. I’m not living by standards set by people who don’t know me. This is the time to finally do what I’ve always planned to do, regardless of any supposed repercussions. Now is the time to take life seriously.
The “MFM” Mindset
A slogan one of my best buddies knows me by is “MFM”—short for “Man for moe”—since my high school days. I never took that phrase too seriously; I would say “it’s not that deep,” or I’d shrug with the popular “after all, what?” (as in, what do we seek to achieve in the grand scheme of things?).
But I’m here to tell you there’s a point to it. If there’s a legacy to leave, then yes—life is serious. Unless you want to live and fade away unnoticed—like livestock, which often serves no purpose beyond being sold—then living without legacy is just marking attendance and exiting like you never happened. Don’t be that person.
Begin small. Consistency and discipline matter more than “doing it big” and then relaxing until the next time you feel pressured.
- Start today—start tiny.
- Show up again tomorrow.
- Let discipline do the heavy lifting.

A Final Thought…
Thank you for coming this far and reading the “crap,” “motivational,” or “inspirational” message I had to share—whichever works for you, I’m cool with it. And honestly, I don’t give a rat’s a**. Take care and have a good day. Do you—Bro/Sis.
Most critics are out of their minds, and all haters are out of their prime. Focus on your path.
“I’m astounded whenever I finish something. Astounded and distressed. My perfectionist instinct should inhibit me from finishing; it should inhibit me from even beginning. But I get distracted and start doing something. What I achieve is not the product of an act of my will but of my will’s surrender. I begin because I don’t have the strength to think; I finish because I don’t have the courage to quit. This book is my cowardice. (Text 152)”
